  • WKU Post Game Audio
Check out post game audio as coaches and players talk about the Husker 49-10 victory over the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

  • Getting it done
As debuts go, this one was pretty good, especially if you happen to be a dual-threat QB. Redshirt freshman Taylor Martinez has been known for some time as a deadly runner, but people found out just how deadly he could be. Reminiscent of the good old days, the new starting QB for the Huskers proved that he's got wheels and he can throw a bit too.

  • WKU Post Game: RB, Rex Burkhead
You establish the run, you can control the game. Well, Nebraska did just that to the tune of a 49-10 win over Western Kentucky. But it was a quarterback, not a running back who led all rushers. That's OK with sophomore Rex Burkhead, who finished second on the team with five carries and 57 yards. He saw it all work together very well.

  • Not where we want to be
A 39-point victory should be enough for anyone to be happy about where the team is at and where it is heading. Well, unless you are Nebraska and the team you are facing is Western Kentucky. There was a lot of good to take from the 49-10 win over the Hilltoppers. But as the head coach said, there is at least as much they need to fix.

  • Finally!
It’s finally here: Game time in Lincoln, NE. It seemed as Niles Paul flexed his biceps in the end zone against Arizona and Ndamukong Suh did the same walking off of the field that I just wanted Saturday against Western Kentucky to get here.

  • Ready for WKU
It's that time, just over a day away from the start of the 2010 season. Husker Head Coach Bo Pelini addressed the media one last time this week before kickoff Saturday evening. Check out the notes and the audio from today.

  • Big Ten Divisions, Schedule Set
The divisions are now set for the Big Ten, and the good news is that rivalries will be maintained, and the competitive balance, at least for now, seems to be intact.

  • Bigguns getting ready for WKU
Even with a key loss like senior Mike Smith, the Husker offensive line is as deep as it has been in years. That bodes well for a unit which is trying to establish itself as not just better than last year's offense which was mediocre at times, but as one of the best in the conference. And they could feature a true freshman on that line this year.

  • The Competition is On-Going
Hey, have you heard that a starting quarterback hasn't been named? Yep, believe it or not. And it's likely the questions will continue until the actual game happens and we can see for ourselves. But there is a game happening, and Offensive Coordinator Shawn Watson talked after practice about the challenges of taking on a new team with a new staff and yes, how the quarterbacks look right now.

  • Strength in Numbers
It’s Tuesday of game week before the first game of the season. Expectations are high for Nebraska this year. There is talk about a Big 12 title and even bigger words like National Championship rolling off the lips of some. Are the Huskers ready despite not naming a starter at quarterback?

  • Everyone has a shot to play
If there is one thing that is very obvious about P.J. Smith, it's that he's as cool as they come. Not too high, not too low - just taking it all in. Well, on the cusp of being perhaps a starter going into game one, it's nothing that even crosses his mind. He knows a lot of guys are going to play. But as you would expect, he wouldn't mind if he was one of them.

  • Audio Q&A with TE, Ben Cotton
Still so young, sophomore tight end Ben Cotton has been thrust into the spotlight, some of it from his own doing, having a productive first year as well as Spring. Part of it having to do with the move of senior Michael McNeill and the loss of Dreu Young. But the idea is the same. The goal hasn't changed. He just might have a few more things to do.

  • Western Kentucky P.C.: DT, Jared Crick
Check out video from today's press conference as junior defensive tackle Jared Crick talks about the upcoming contest with Western Kentucky.

  • Nebraska's latest scholarship player
It's probably something that is played over and over at every school around the country. A walk on gets his shot and a scholarship to play ball. But at Nebraska, perhaps more than most places, when you are a walk-on who has crossed that line and became a scholarship player, it's like you have joined a historic club. Well, Nebraska added Austin Cassidy to that club this week.

  • Huskers not quite ready for WKU
Check out some notes and quotes as well as post practice audio with Head Coach Bo Pelini as the Huskers get into game week as they prepare for the home-opener less than a week away.

  • One-on-One with the Huskers: WR, Will Henry
The up and down road that is trying for a spot on the depth chart. Will Henry has been all over it, across it and perhaps back to the beginning again. This is his last year, though, so he's not thinking about what was, only what is. But it's not so much as wanting to go out in style. He just wants to make it his best year since he's arrived.
