Three More Husker Recruits Commit PDF Print E-mail

Coach Bill Callahan continues to add to his list of recruits for 2008 with the addition of three more names.

Late last week, Will Compton of Bonne Terre North County, Mo., gave his verbal commitment to play for the Huskers. The 6-foot-2, 214-pound linebacker is a four-star recruit with Rivals.com and is actually helping to recruit players in Missouri to come to Nebraska. Compton turned down scholarship offers from Missouri and several Big 10 schools.

Over the weekend, receiver D.J. Woods and defensive end Josh Williams gave their verbal commitments to the Huskers.

Williams is the second player from Texas to join Nebraska's 2008 class of recruits. He is a 6-foot-4, 220-pound senior at Denton Ryan High School, where he recorded 68 tackles -- 22 for losses -- and six sacks last year.

Woods will come to Nebraska from Strongsville, Ohio, where he also had offers from Ohio State, Auburn, Penn State and others. The 6-foot, 169-pound receiver caught 35 balls for 750 yards and eight touchdowns last year.
